Stop Frame Animation

i can not find the inventor of the Stop motin but a pioneer would be Ray Harryhausen, his natinality is USA, Hollywood. The first stop motion animation technique can be credited to  Albert E. Smith and J. Stuart Blackton for The Humpty Dumpty Circus (1897).

My Storyboard

The timeline provides what will happen in the animation and which camera angles and shots were taken during the process. Some of the shots have been changed in the process to make the animation longer most of the angles are the same but might have been used more and the sound effect were added after the timeline was produced these include: gun shots, explosions, the sound of tumbleweed rolling along the screen, the sound of the theme tune and the final scene which is a victory cheer also a sound of a cricket in the awkward stare down scene.

Character & Environment

Colin the Cowboy
Eugine the Terminator thing

These characters were inspired by woody the cowboy from Toy Story we have made a few changes to this character which isn't copy right.

Desert Background. This is to fit with the animation and we wanted to have a desert instead of any other background scenery.

The different facial expressions. The facial expressions are so it was more managble to change the faces instead of making loads more characters with different faces.

Production Schedule

My Animation Idea

We first started off we the idea of animals fighting which was a crocodile fighting with an turtle, turtle fighting with a cowboy then changed to zombie apocalypse fighting a single cowboy then we changed it to a cowboy fighting with an evil terminator which was an evil twin. For our final animation technique we have chosen stop frame animation as our desired animation. We chose this out of all the other animations because we thought it would have more of an effect on our animation than any other animation.

15.11.12

In todays lesson we re-capped on our animation but we re started our animation work because it would have been difficult to cut and add parts to the animation, the camera battery ran and and the memoray card had no space left also the arm of the cowboy ripped so we had to blue tac the arm back on this delayed our photo taking time but made it alot easier to move the arm. We mananged to nearly complete the animation we need the last few images and the animation will be complete and we also need to achieve our voice overs for the characters.

25.10.2012

Today, with it being review week we caught up on our previous work which has been my timeline and also me and my partner started producing our stortyboard, this meant we had to postpone our previous action which is on our schedule to take the photos for our final animation. I also changed my target audience because our teacher Adam Kelsall thought mine and my partners work was to similar.

18.10.2012

In my prodution schedule, me and my partner abigail had discused that we would create our character, background and  final storyboard. This week we had to finish the characters but we just needed to finalise what they looked like and how we would make them move which we have decided to use paper fastener, we also created the background of the animation.

Target Audience

As part of our final production we need to demostrate an understanding of our target audience. The brief states my 'final animation will be seen by children and adults alike'.  The BBFC stands for British Board Film Classification.

U: Universal.
Universal is suitable for any audience, it doesn't have any explict contents for example violence, nudity, strong language and discrimination.

PG: Parental Guidence.
The Site says:
'Unaccompanied children of any age may watch. A ‘PG’ film should not disturb a child aged around eight or older. However, parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger or more sensitive children.'

12A is means you are accompanied by a adult the contents include discrimination, drugs, horror, imatable behaviour, language, nudity, sex and violence and is also some for a 12.

http://www.bbfc.co.uk/classification/guidelines/r18/

The difference between U and PG is that U is suitable to everybody and PG is suitable for chidlren who have a parents watching with.

The difference between PG and 12A is PG is suitable for younger audience and older audience but 12A is suitable for 12 years old but accompanied by a n adult.

The difference between 12A and 12, is the 12 you dont have to be accompanied by an adult.

The difference between 12 and 15 is  that there is more violence, language and mild nudity in a 15.

The difference between 15 and 18 is that you have to be 18 and there is more violence, nudity and strong language.

The difference between 18 and R18 is that R18 is more explict meaning everything is exposed and won't be held back on explict content.

The target audience we have chose is a 12, this is because we have mild violence.

Phenakisakope

In lesson today we produced a Phenakistoscope, by doing this we all got a papper plate drew a line through the middle then drew 3 more lines cutting the plate into 8 triangles then created a image from beggining to end e.g a balloon floating, a man running or a someone punching someone. Then cutting a slice on the edge of the plate to be able to look through, then getting a pin putting it through the centre of the plate and attacting it to a pencil at the back, going to a mirror closing one eye and looking through the slices to see the balloon rising. Thaumatrope

The inventor of the thaumtrope was Dr John A Paris from London, his nationality is English. The Thaumatrope was created in 1825. The Thaumatrope works by having a small disc with a background image e.g. a bowl and a foreground image of a fish. With a piece of string through the middle so when twisted the fish looks like its in the bowl.

Hello World!
